Since all my galleries are out of state, it has been a few years since I have had a real show in Texas. So, AUSTIN, you are first to see my latest before I pack it away to Charleston. PLEASE JOIN ME, either at the reception: Friday, Jan. 22, 5-8 pm, or come hang out in my "studio" Saturday, Jan. 23 from 10-4.
I will have on my painting clothes and will be doing a "day of demos". This late in the game, I am not expecting a crowd, so come keep me company as I do some "starts" or add details to new works.
I also have some of my Last Year on the Farm small works and books, and my famous
If you say "please", I will give you one of the maps!
Joel's is the best coffee house in Austin and they opened a new workspace next door. That is actually where the art hangs. It is hanging there NOW, so let me know if you go see it without me!

Desi, Jazz and Toby

Desi, Jazz and Toby____for Monica! My great Cowgirl Up! hostess!

OK, This was a quickie for Monica, the wonderful museum volunteer who put us
up in her lovely guest quarters at Cowgirl Up!. She was showing me the
photos one night and didn't notice that I sneaked them into my shirt so that
I could sketch them when she was not around...It took me a few days of
catching a minute here and a minute there, but I finally finished this
little sketch of her "family".

I like staying with Monica, because EVERYONE in town knows her and loves
her....then they think I must be nice if I am staying with her! hahaha

Don't forget I am teaching a workshop in Fredericksburg on June 14 - 17 and
we will focus on DRAWING. email me if you need more info vvaughan8@yahoo.com

And get out to Marble Falls any Thursday thru Sunday till April 18 to see
selections from my Last Year on the Farm
paintings. If you have a group that wants a special personal viewing with
me, e-mail me and we can work it out!

These three golden retrievers had just gotten through romping around the water when I snapped the picture....all tongues hanging in full PANT! This is really a sketch, but it's all framed up and ready to take to the Southeastern Wildlife Exposition in Charleston, SC. Srr it framed, below. I ship my big box of art tomorrow! Then I will have a few days off before flying out to the show. I hope if you live nearby you will come say "hello"! vvaughan8@yahoo.com

The Girls

"The Girls"__________8x10_________Sold
Candi and Cristel are a couple of lovely ladies in the family of my good friend Julie. Julie used to share a room with me at Round Rock Christian Academy. She taught math and I, of course, ART.
The Academy is having their annual Auction THIS SATURDAY, April 28, and I donated the painting "Luz de Espada". This is NOT a small one, but measures 16 x 20 and has a BEAUTIFUL frame, donated by Carol Woolf Gallery...There will be lots of VERY good things to bid on (trips, tickets, STUFF), but I hope this painting will break a record! Please scroll down to April 10 to see the painting and read the story. If you'd like to bid, call 512.255.4491 and mention the painting by V.... Vaughan....I think it will sell for less than the "retail" price...
