A Little Light

A Little Light   4 x 6  Available at Act I Gallery, Taos, NM

WELCOME TO ACT I Gallery
My FAVORITE Gallery, Act I Gallery in Taos, NM has new owners!
This is a "Welcome" to D. and G. and wonderful well wishes as they embark on a great art adventure!
This little tiny painting was the first one I did for my recent solo show there, and I almost lost it before the show! (it is very small!).  I believe it is still there, waiting for a home!

HELLO AGAIN! I have been in the mountains with no email or phone....painting the change of seasons in the Rocky Mountains. PLEASE stay tuned for a few sweet little paintings from this COLORFUL trip!
It started last Saturday, as I spent the day in Taos, doing business with my gallery there, ct I. I stayed on and painted this on a PERFECT DAY to paint outside! This little church is across the street from Act I, so I was able to send people inside to see finished works (just in case I flubbed the demo)...
After the demo we drove north into Colorado, to stay at my in-laws summer home along the Conejos River. Fall was in full force, so getting three artists to go 70 miles was quite a task....stopping every few minutes or so to snap pictures tends to slow you down...we'd still be out there if it weren't for dead cameras (sorry B.) and more dead batteries than you can imagine, (right N.?)....Tomorrow I will post the first one from Colorado.

Summer's End - Taos__6 x 8 oil

"Summer's End - Taos, NM" 6 x 8 oil study on linen panel____$150 if you like thick paint!
A few weeks ago we left Taos as the day was leaving town. I love the time of day where shadows are long, and in Taos, they are always crisp and COOL shadows!...speaking of cool, we FINALLY got our A/C fixed...just as the clods came and it got below 100....whew!...NEXT WEEK, I will be on the Texas coast....heading down to paint for a few days. Any suggestions? SERIOUSLY! If you tell me what to paint, and I paint it, I will let you have first "pickin's" on the small studies! ...hit the comment button, and I will get my colors ready!!! Be sure to leave your e-mail address! vvaughan8@yahoo.com

Paseo Taos___6x8__V....Vaughan

"Paseo Taos"____6x8 oil on linen panel___$150 to the first who wants it!
Driving through Taos, and down the way from Act I Gallery is this nice little view, just off the road. The fall colors were just starting to show a few weeks ago.
IF YOU LIVE NEAR AUSTIN...I will be painting the sunrise at our old farm on this Saturday, Nov. 1. I'm doing a demo hosted by Plein Air Austin, a great group of painters that are dedicated to "getting out". Directions to the farm are on their web site. I will start just before sunrise at about 7:30. EVERYONE is invited and it's free for PAA members, $5 for visitors. Funds go to PAA. I LOVE to paint the farm, and morning is my favorite time there...I think I will do a "larger than usual" canvas...maybe :)
