Hook This

Hook This___10 x 30 oil for Cowgirl Up!___Wickenburg, Arizona, March 22 - May 31

This is the first one I painted for this year's event, Cowgirl Up in Wickenburg Arizona, at the Desert Caballeros Museum. Opening festivities are next weekend, March 22-24. And I mean FESTIVITIES!!! This is one event that I LOVE to go to! There are wonderful beautiful cowgirl artists everywhere, and their great art to match. It is a fun time to catch up with old friends, to be in the old west, and enjoy Arizona before the heat kicks in. Please tap me on the shoulder if you are out there. I will probably tap you right back!

The Fullback

The Fullback___8x10 oil on linen____ vvaughan8@yahoo.com for pricing
After my daughter's "Chicken Clinic" I gathered up all the artist's leftover goopy mixes of oil paint and saved it "for later"...it is with these "palette droppings" that I painted the one above. Look close and you see great chunks of paint! I will post a few of these over the next couple of days...

I am entering my busiest time of year. New paintings will be posted every week, and you are the first to see them. You have the first shot at them if you ask, and I always read mail in order! Otherwise, these will go with me to the shows on my Spring schedule. Come see me!!

Off Season__6 x 8 oil__V....Vaughan

"Off Season"__6 x 8 oil on linen panel___$150 if you are first to want it!
Well, the Longhorns are between seasons. That's what I thought of when I saw these two resting, and thought of my favorite sports team, the Texas Longhorns. My family follows them closely, with lots of personal ties to the University...personally, I really like the color and logo for the team :)
Sunday I leave for 20 days of teaching young artists at the Western Art Academy in Kerrville. It is like an art vacation for me: staying on a college campus, all meals prepared, a nice place to stay, and no obligations after 5 pm. I get a lot of personal art done while there, and look forward to finishing my mules and dogs and other commissions. Mainly, I can't wait to meet a couple dozen young artists, and see if I can help them with their painting!
