Reflecting in Rockport

Reflecting in Rockport__12x9 oil on linen____SOLD
Not that I am IN ROCKPORT, or anything...in fact I am at my home computer, now....back from the cool Colorado mountains....reluctantly!
This image was waiting for me in my mailbox...sent to me by the person who bought it a few weeks ago in Rockport. I sold it right off my easel, and never had a chance to photograph it, so I am glad to have this image...even though it is a little bit "rough"....

Imagining Rain___8 x 10 oil

"Imagining Rain"...8x10 oil on linen, click image to see detail__Available
I am staying at Caro and Don's place while spending a little time on the coast. The mornings here are irresistible to paint. I LOVE the BIG, low clouds on the Texas Coast this time of year, and keep imagining rain!!.

Windy Nets

"Windy Nets" sold
Well, Here is another recent sale made by the Richard James Galleries in Charleston. I painted this with my fun and faithful friends in Rockport (where I will be again this weekend), and shipped it off to Charleston (where I will be in a few weeks!). Now that it is sold, this will be my goodbye showing!
It was a mighty windy day when we painted in September, but it was wrm and nice nonetheless! I will resume the plein air workshops (once a month) in Rockport in Late Feb. Plenty of time to make plans to join us!
As winter cold and rain wear us down in Austin, I am looking forward to spring just around our corner....MORE COLD FARM PAINTINGS soon!

Rockport Cloudline.....Click to Bid

"Rockport Cloud Line"..................................................................6 x 6 oil

This was painted last week on location in Rockport, TX. We marveled that the clouds stayed like this for a couple hours! Really! I learned from Caro, a local who has sailed the world, that the clouds come off the water and build up along the shore as they hit land...Great to know, if you are a painter painting "moving targets" (our theme that day). I have been teaching a workshop series: one Saturday each month in the fall. Please join our great painting group "en plein air" for the last Fall class on Sat. Dec. 16. *note to my class....see how much better it looks with the figures on the beach?
