Last Year's Oct. 31

"Last Year on the Farm Oct 31, 2006"
From Last Oct 31.......This one has a couple dibs on it already....I am working FURIOUSLY this week to contact all the "dibsers" to get y'all to "commit" to a painting or two and let me know if you want to release anything you have chosen.
The next big thing will be to get the ENTIRE show of 365 oaintings on the web site...NEXT WEEK, hopefully...and you will see many that you've never seen before, and which ones are still available!
"Last Year on the Farm" by V....Vaughan will be completed next week. The last of 365 daily paintings will be done as I paint 24 paintings in 24 hours of our last Fall Day on the Farm. I would like to show you all 24, sending them 6 at a time for 4 days of Thanksgiving Week...I will not blog all 6 at once, so to see them please go to the BLOG and find the little "join" box at the top right column. This will put you in the Group that gets a daily e-mail with a painting a day..."to look at and toss". Any questions? please e-mail me

Last Full Moon

"Last Year on the Farm...the other day"...available

...nearly 100 different people have put dibs on an average of 4 paintings. ...

I am NOT fast with numbers, so have been working carefully to let everyone know where they stand in the "queue" to get a Farm painting. Everyone has varied tastes so only a few have 3 or 4 in queue. Most just have one dibs, so you should have a choice to get one you like! When you get your mail, please respond as soon as you can, so that I can put it all up on the web site!

Some of you have gotten my BIG e-mail...the rest of you will get it today or tomorrow...it has details and lots of info about the museums that will be exhibiting this series next year!

I am spending every spare moment on the farm, now, for my last week there....I hope you will enjoy the upcoming paintings from my last week ...

SLO Crossing

"SLO CROSSING" ....oil on linen panel...6 x 8 $300 framed

Here is a little one I did from a high perch in San Luis Obispo...aka SLO...The dog makes this a "wildlife" painting, so I am taking it to Easton, MD for the "Waterfowl Festival"...unless someone wants it first...it is a juicy little painting...
I have a bunch of paintings of our "Last Week on the Farm". I keep painting the "Last" of everything: "Last Full Moon", "Last Quiet Pasture", and in a couple days I will do 24 in 24 hours of our "Last Fall Day on the Farm"...

"Last Year on the Farm, October Light".....available
To all who have put "dibs" on the "Last Year on the Farm" paintings...THANK YOU and please get ready to tell me asap whether you would like to proceed to make a deposit on your painting.
I will send you an itemized list of the painting(s) you are interested in, along with info about terms of the sale.
Immediately after this week's exhibit at the farm, the entire collection will travel to the University of Nebraska's Great Plains Art Museum, where it will remain on display from Jan - March, 2008.

When I deliver the art to you after these shows, I hope to also have a package of other goodies for you, as a record of where your piece has been "seen". This is a good thing and enhances the value of art!

I remember painting this last winter...I painted one before it as the moon was just coming up and the sky actually seemed to lighten as the moon rose higher, even though it was later!
This week's full moon is our last on the farm. I have been painting it, too, but have not photographed the art yet. Please watch for it in upcoming posts.
Only a couple days left to see all 365 paintings on location in my Farm House Gallery. All our stuff is at the new house, so I took advantage of all the space. Call if you can come, 512.917.0814 or just come on out on Saturday from 10 - 8. Directions on web site

SLO Quick-Draw

"SLO Quick-Draw" ......sold
A little break from the farm today. Cannot let this time pass without asking everyone to pray for our friends in California. I called several friends there yesterday and ALL weer evacuated. 3 of the 4 I called had a story of TOTAL LOSS for someone in their family. The fires are raging there and this has affected so many!
The painting above is one I did in San Luis Obispo a few weeks ago. For a "Quick Draw", the artist is given about an hour to paint and then additional time to frame a painting.
That's a nice lady with the art ;) more SLO art to come....
BUT FIRST, please come see the farm art...Sundy is the last day to see it at the farm :)
see it online at http://www.v-vaughan.com

Light Peeking

"Last Year on the Farm 10-11-2007"

A Couple days ago, this warm light greeted me at the farm. Each farm sunrise is so precious to me now...I can count the ones I have left...just a few until I will be living full-time at home in Round Rock, and the farm life will be behind me...

I do not mind telling y'all now, that one of my goals for all these little paintings is to share them with as many people as want them, and draw attention to small-time farming as a GREAT, honorable way of life.

It is HARD work, y'all. Not glamorous at all, for the real farmer, but just LOOK at the reward!

Beauty...God's new views EVERY moment, day, season...no two alike, EVER! I hope more people will determine to live this way, owning fewer "things" that break, but instead partnering with God in His purpose for us...to be FRUITFUL and IMPROVE the places around us...taking care of things. I hope the sale of these small little original paintings will help me with a new life dream ... to be able to live on a farm again...or next door to one :)

All the works are AVAILABLE FOR PURCHASE NOW>>>no more dibs, but I will tell you when one was chosen by my kids...so please join me at the farm Saturday to view them all...

Tomorrow I will let you know the price. There will be a SPECIAL price for YOU, my friends, and it will last through the end of my time on the farm...on Nov. 1, the price will have to increase, because I will share the sale with the galleries and museums who have come alongside to show and promote these works. The only "catch" is that you'll have to wait a few months while your art travels to the exhibits...details about that tomorrow.

If anyone has info about farm organizations that help people STAY on their farms, I would LOVE to know about it. Soon, I will publish a book or two featuring these 365 paintings, and maybe I can do something to help small farmers.

Today's New Cows

"Last Year on the Farm 10-09-2007" ....TODAY!....dibs available
What a sight! I went to the farm to pack some more of my studio. I was annoyed when I looked out over the field, because I thought there was a bunch of trash in the pasture. Looking closer I could not believe my eyes! COWS AGAIN!

April 24 Anticipation

"Last Year on the Farm, 04-24-2007" 6 x 8...ready for dibs!

Anticipating their next bug snack, these egrets waited patiently. I painted near a vineyard, yesterday and saw an amazing thing! A tall white egret flew over and startled one of the horses. Then it landed in the pasture of horses I was painting. The one horse stayed upset and started chasing the egret, until it finally flew off. But the horse was still so upset it ran back to the stable. Haha
