Here is the # 7 mule of about 10 mule drawings created as studies for a large painting I have been commissioned to paint. NO TWO ARE ALIKE!
I have a new artist friend from India who wrote to ask me the difference between a donkey and a mule. Mules, in fact, are a cross between a DONKEY and a HORSE, so sometimes they look like zebras, with rounder rumps (Like the donkeys). More trivia: the mules are born sterile and cannot reproduce themselves! For new mules you have to start over with a donkey and a horse.
I hope that helps you, Sanjeev Joshi. (Y'all need to go see his work....he's an architect with great painting skill!
Scroll down the blog to see the other mule drawings being auctioned this week! To follow the progress of the large painting and see the finished painting in a few weeks, go to http://www.vvaughan.blogspot.com/.
Sign up for a 2009 workshop and we will cover a lot of drawing this year!
