Quick Draw Poppy at SEWE

"SEWE Poppy Quick Draw"___12 x 12 oil sold at auction at SEWE in Charleston, SC
Thank you to Linda L., who sent me this photo of the poppy I painted at the "Quick Draw" at the Southeastern Wildlife Exposition last Friday in Charleston, SC. Quick Draw artists have 45 minutes to paint and then frame an original piece of art. I enjoyed a fun crowd who watched...one nice fan ran across the room for me to borrow some turp (thank you to artist Dustin Van Welchel, who generously gave me a few drops for my tank!)
Gee...I think my recent posts must be VERY encouraging to you artist-types out there....good for your self-esteem, as I have recounted my travails of forgetting my brushes at a demo, losing the inner part of my turp can in an alligator swamp and now having to borrow supplies from another artist! See??? It's an "artist-thing, y'all".
Here are a few workshops I will teach this year....come to one if you can!:
Mar. 7 ...Rockport, TX (1 day)
6 - 9 ...Granbury, TX (4 day - comprehensive, in-depth workshop in an elegant place, !!!)
Apr. 18... Rockport, TX (1 day)
April 27 - 30... Gadsden, ALABAMA
May 30 ...Waxahachie, TX (1 day)
June 5-7... Fredericksburg, TX (Painting Fast - every day, and what to do with all those paintings!)
Fall ...in New Orleans (with EATING in our off hours)
