Southfork Trailhead

 Southfork Trailhead__8x10 oil

Below is the graphite (water soluble) wash I did just before my friend Pat and I settled in to paint at this location a couple weeks ago...This southern Colorado river valley is the place where I will teach a
5 day workshop during the August full moon-time in 2014.
Click here to read a little tease about it, and to see some photos. I will have all the details in order, in a couple weeks, after I spend a little more time up there!

ONCE AGAIN, I want to apologize for the group hacking I endured this weekend....
I have adjusted every possible security measure with Google, and will have my tech man polish up details on Tuesday, just in case.
I feel pretty safe with my new 15 digit password!!!
NO WAY to hack that...I hope!

Under the Thunder_rain, clouds, reflections, road

Under the Thunder___6x8 oil study for "Passing America..." exhibit in 2011
To see yesterday's post, you will notice the building thunderheads. Even though it was early in the morning, the storms were hanging around, and for a while, I thought it would be a day full of rainy paintings. We drove toward the building clouds and this "drive-by" study was painted as we drove into the rain ahead!
All this happened in Nebraska's Butler County a few weeks ago...these days I am preparing to be a mother-in-law, as my older son gets married in a couple weeks...the younger one is inthe thick of his senior year as the Round Rock High School Dragon quarterback...Friday they will play down near San Antonio, and the team they play was on ESPN all weekend...they must be good...but so are the Dragons!....it will be fun!

On the Road Again_6 x8 oil_V....Vaughan

"On the Road Again"__6 x 8 oil on linen panel__$100
How I love the Texas skies in the summer time! Even though it is so hot, the skies just remind you that summer is the greatest time! I especially like road trips. My son and I bought some perfect music for our summer travels: Willie Nelson, Marty Robbins, and a new favorite, Dierks Bentley, whose name I certainly misspelled just now...I begin teaching 24 young adults tomorrow at the Western Art Academy. We all met over pizza (of course!) and "Tres Leches" cake this evening. It is a good looking group, hand picked and interviewed for this scholarship course of intensive study. They all kept sying how READY they are for the challenge ahead...
